Pssst…I’m working on a secret project for one of my friends…Promise you won’t tell anyone?

I am working on a scrapbook album to give as a gift for my friend.

I have collected ideas, crafting friends were so kind as to send me links to video tutorials and so I decided to jump into my project!! – Never mind that I’ve never made a decent scrapbook before. After considerable thought and realizing that I couldn’t do everything by myself – I decided to order album supplies from a fellow crafter.

Since I’m from Chennai – it made sense to order supplies from Kavitha of Kalalayaa . Kavitha offers scrapbook or paper craft kits, die cuts, punched out borders, embellishments, pattern papers, punches and more at her online craft store.

I received my custom scrapbook kit from her on Saturday – it was like New Year coming a day early for me 🙂 I had contacted her and asked her to make a kit for me using only shades of blue, white and silver/ gold. Since my album is to be given to a girl, it had asked for girly patterned paper etc. I am amazed at the hard work Kavitha has put in to this kit. Really appreciate it!

I am really thrilled with it – my mom was teasing me saying that she knew I would hold it in my hand while I slept – trust me I would have but stopped myself or else I would crush it!

Before I share pics of my kit and the lovely crafting goodies in it, I must ask you to head over to Kavitha’s blog and check out her lovely projects and tutorials. She is very helpful (particularly good for a newbie like me) and was so kind as to consider all the many conditions I had with the kit 🙂 I will definitely be buying more supplies from her and I recommend her store to all of you too.

So, on with the pics:

I haven’t uploaded pictures of the assortment of ribbons and scrapbook papers in the kit….I will post them later on in the week.. I have also started decorating and decking up the journalling spots and tags in the kit 🙂 Will post about those too later…

That’s all from me for today folks …Have a great first week of 2012 everyone 🙂 and keep crafting!!
