Hello! Did you miss me?

Miss me yet?

Guess who’s back 🙂 I’ve had a temporary case of lost crafting mojo and lethargy so I’m consciously trying to do something on Craftzy now.

There are a couple of things I want to share – or ask rather. Okay so my dear readers – these questions are meant for you – you can reply by email or comment at the end of this post.

The first one is a question – What content would you like to see on Craftzy?

I know that many of you are paper crafters and may be specifically interested in Origami or Card making etc. But that doesn’t mean I should forget my dear jewelry making friends either. So what would you like to read about on my blog? General crafts or specific crafts? Posts about events like the By the Hand handmade sales? Tutorials or lists of where to buy what? Let me know – I’m looking out for topics to write about that will be interesting and useful for you.

Next – I’ve realized that a lot of my friends and craft buddies had lots of questions on how to make jewelry – not tutorials but the very basics of jewelry making – like what kinds of beads to buy etc. So I am planning to write a serious of blog posts on that – Jewelry Making Basics 🙂 So you can expect to read posts about shopping for bead supplies, the basic tools you should have and more. Do you have a specific question about jewelry making? Is there something you’ve always wanted to ask me – just let me know and I will try to answer it to the best of my ability.

Before this post becomes a really huge essay, I really must tell you this – I have been talking to some fellow jewelry crafters who have started out making jewelry as a hobby and then found themselves making so many items of jewelry that they couldn’t wear it themselves 🙂 Making the transition from hobby to craft business is actually a whole lot of work but with some creative fun thrown in. I have studied hundreds of articles online about starting my own jewelry business and researched marketing and management and what not. But what did I do with all that info – it is still safely tucked away in some part of my brain and gets used only when someone emails me – like the very talented Abhinaya whom I met on this very craft blog.

Can you guess what I am going to do for this? Of course, I am going to blog about it!

So I will be writing about Creating a craft business on your own – so topics like pricing your work, packaging your work and the actual creative process will be peppered throughout the posts. Do tell me if there is anything you would like to know about this – I would love to share whatever I have learnt so far 🙂
Please put down your thoughts on all these topics that I am planning to write about 🙂 All topic ideas and suggestions for posts are welcome I will reply to each email and comment that I get for sure!

  • Hey Sarah, Nice to see you again! 🙂 Hope to see you posting more..
It would be great if you can post on events/competitions/give-aways in addition to your jewellery-making posts.
And of course, tutorials and tips/tricks.

    • Hi Pearlie 🙂 Glad you missed me here 🙂
I am working on a series of posts – hope to get them up here soon. Thanks for the great idea – I will try to write more about events and giveaways as and when I come across them. The tutorials – hmmm- let me think what I can do 🙂
