Below are some questions that I am asked frequently— I try my very best to keep this page updated, so thank you for your patience. You can always email me if you have a question which is not in this list. I have organized questions by category so that it is easy for you to read.
Where can I buy the jewelry that you make?
At this time, my product is only available in my online shop (coming soon). Feel free to contact me with questions if you are a retailer looking to place a wholesale order.
Do you make all your products on your own or do you have help?
I am proud to say that each item in my shop is handmade by me! I create, I market and I sell all my own products. However, I have such super duper talented and kind friends who buy my beads on their travels, help me get packaging materials and also logo design and branding.
Where do you make your Jewelry?
Everything is handmade by me in my home studio which is in Chennai, India.
When and where did you learn how to make jewelry?
I am a technical writer by profession so I have time only on weekends to do stuff…I watched some YouTube videos on jewelry making- went out with my best friend to Tnagar, bought some beads and I made some earrings and took them to my office to show my friends. Then my boss (a lady) saw it and called the other ladies to see! Before I knew it – they wanted to buy all my jewelry for themselves and for their daughters. I hadn’t expected that and I hadn’t thought about pricing at all So I named prices just like that- all my earrings sold out and I had more orders. Soon my friends started asking me for jewelry to match their new dresses. That is how it all began
What materials and tools do you use to make your jewelry?
I use beads of all kinds – metal, ceramic, plastic, glass and shells in my jewelry. I also use copper and silver wire and some other jewelry stuff like head pins, eye pins, earring hooks, clasps, gear wire, jump rings and small spacer beads.
I have two flat nosed jewelry pliers, a couple of round- nosed pliers (my best investment in my business so far!) and a wire cutter.
Where do you buy your beads and jewelry supplies?
I do not want to disclose specific information about my bead and supply sources- but, you are most welcome to check out my Resources page where I have a huge list of craft supply shops in Chennai and online craft supply blogs from India.
I’m flattered that you asked, and thanks in advance for understanding that I can’t share specifics!
